well today I notied something weird.

While IM driving with the ac on every once in a while I will hear a click like a relay turning on or off. And at the same time if feels like my A/C clutch engages/disengages.. anyone hear/have this happen??

Yeah I beleive your exacly right about your ac clutch engaging and disengaging. Thats what your hearing. My car does it too. It's normal.

while driving.. like.. not cruising, but accelerating and it will click disengage and engine power frees up, sometimes the other way (engages engine power lowers)

that happens with yours too?

If you floor it the car turns A/C off for more power for passing.

another thing I noticed.. im idling, A/c on. and it cycles, every 10 seconds it goes off then 10 more and comes back on.. constantly, and im not pressing the button.. normal aswell?

im thinking this may have something to do w/ my idle problems.. eacv.. :/

I believe that is a sign of the freon getting low. I just had this happen and the freon was low. I filled it and the compressor stays on. If it gets too low it won't even turn on. Is the a/c cold?

That is normal.The reason it cycles is couse if it didnt every thing would freeze.It has to maintaine a certain temp.(for you inside the car and for the pump,lines,ect.)All 3 of my cars do that.........and so does my refrigirator...LOL!

Every 10 seconds though? Mine stays on for minutes before it cycles. It is in the 100's here though.

There must be something wrong with the one in my civic too then couse I just put the belt back on(took it off for 2 years dont ask why :o)and it does the same thing.At first I thought it was wierd couse it felt like my car was kind of sputtering(It constantly comes on and off).It maintains cool air though.I only notice it coming on and off while crusing down the street not while at high speeds on the freeway.I cant remember what it was doing 2 years ago so I thought it was normal.

Maybe we both have the same problem.

fairly cold.. on 27+ days (celcius) (80F) it \ isn;t cold enough. but blows strong..

Possilbe bad high/low pressure switch, or your just getting low on R12
