Last week was a super long week for me. 40-50 Hours at work too. We started it with a bare block monday AM. Friday night we dynoed it. Saturday we won a race! Sunday we ---- the ---- out of our girls. Too much was spent over 400 dollars on shipping cost. Our plans for this week was to get a new oil pump and fix our 4th gear grind, and fixing the exhaust I ripped off loading the car on the trailer.

Monday I spent finding out how expensive honda tranny parts are, then trying to find a different tranny with better ratios. Made a new exhaust out of 3 inch, yes this is the 6th different setup under the car in the past 3 years.

Tuesday I ordered a oil pump for a 96 integra, because the rumor on the net is, it runs a little more volume-pressure. I am running a large filter, cooler, and losser clearances on the rod and main jornal. Also found a tranny that would have worked prefect
Tuesday night I started to feel sick

Wensday I had a hard time staying at work, so I went home. Also found out that I wasn't able to get the tranny(MN guys help)I learned a ton about honda gearboxes on the computer, and followed up with a few phone calls.

Thrusday I installed the oil pump, it was a huge pain in the *** because I have no room at all in the 1st gen CRX with B18a. I also found out that my early cover doesn't fit on this newer oil pump (MN people if you have one please contact me Tried very hard today to find my gears needed in building my tranny with no luck. (contacts)

I am thinking we should just stay home this weekend and work on the tranny and other ----.

Here is my new tranny plan, leave 1-3 gears alone in my stock LS tranny. Then swap in a b16 fourth gear set with new sycros and sliders and fix what doesn't look right. Then run the MFactory 1 to 1 5th gear(anyone heard anything about this company??)
What do you think about this gear split

1.259 3rd stock, great gear for our racing
1.107 4th Comes in the b16 trannies I guess (Swap? I heard it was easy)
1.000 5th this gear comes from MFactory (will it last?)

We run 24.25 inch tall tires.

I'm going to bed the nightquil is kicking in, 3-5 shots a night gets me fucked up.

is your tranny a ys1? if so why not just run any hydro, GSR,B16, gear sets?

the shift into 5th is almost useless......

 

The .848 is not too bad in the hot rod honda box.
My LS gear box has a .714 which is not good at all. At 125 mph on the ice I would never use that gear, no pull means very unstable. I have been using our .933 four gear, we get a huge rpm drop inbetween 3rd and 4th.

I think a short jump to 5th gear down the straights will be a good thing pushing this in the air.
