Default Water Bubbling In Overflow - Leaky Rad Would Cause?

So I had a problem a few days ago with my thermo getting stuck shut, I overheated the car though

I removed it completely and sealed the housing. Since then I have foudn a small rad leak, leaks like a slow drip, cant really tell where it coming from, no white smoke at idle or anything and the car drives fine, so Im sure I didnt blow the headgasket

My question is though, I go for a drive, I was out for maybe 25 min last night just cruisin around and just as I pull back in the gauge started to go up to 3/4

Get out and theres water bubbling in the overflow

Now I know I have a leaky rad and I ned a new one. But if that got low on fluid and you kept driving, would it force water into the overflow?

Thanks

you "steamed" the motor, low coolant level and temp sensor was not reading properly since low coolant level.

Hope you didn't ---- up the motor.

But that can be caused because ym rad is leaking right, fluid levels dropped, water boiled and pushed into the overflow, it can hapen like that right?

I just dont wanna replace a headgasket if I dont have to

Radiators obviously gotta be swapped

put a thermostat in it

then start it up with the radiator cap off, and fill, and let it warm up till it's at operating temp. Put the rad cap on, and fill the overflow halfway. Then monitor the water level in the overflow tank. And do a compression test.

I know for a fact it leaks coolant out of the rad once pressurized and maybe even when its not pressurized

How do I find the leak on the rad if I cant see it?

Also, if you know the radiator needs to be replaced, then dont forget to correct that problem.

Try some rad stop leak kinda ----. I had 2 pin hole leaks that no one would fix (aluminum rad), and I used some "Bars Stop Leak" from PartSource, cost 3 bucks, leaks are gone!

Yep. My overflow bubbled when my car warmed up. This was caused by combustion pressure entering the cooling system. The pressures of the cooling system, combined with the addition of the combustion pressure, the radiator cracked about a foot long on the top side. Take off the cap and smell the coolant. It will smell different than the nasty fish smell.
