VX block reving higher?

Can the vx block really rev higher than standard D series blocks? If it can how high can it go if I upgraded to forged pistons and LS rods with a vtec sohc head that was fully upgraded with the valves and everything? with about 12 psi? Also wondering what if you post the block more than just 4 on each side? like say have 2 for each cylinder on each side.

Well if its fully built i dont see reving higher than anyother fully built d.The only thing i see holding you back are the ls rods, remember they are still stock rods though better than the d rods but not forged. My two cents.

I got a d16a6 with a z6 head, and i turn it to 7,000 rpm all day long on stock rods and pm3 pistons. Why would a vx be higher?

Re:VX block reving higher?

I can see where he got this from some people have the opinion that the 1.5 piston to rod ratio is better then the 1.6liter, which is true for high revs because the piston makes a shorter stroke, my 1.5Vtec pulls to 7200redline stock and rev limit at 7500 just like D16Z6 the Z1 is an economy block so it has a weak head and a low redline, the redline is in the head not the bottom end. I love the 1.5L I think it rocks, JDM D15Bvtec all the way! boosting @10psi

Re:VX block reving higher?

The only reason I see that the stock VX should be able to rev like a bitch is b/c the rods/pistons are lighter than other rods ( b/c they don't need to be as strong ).

IE: LS/B-seies rods weigh more than stock D-series rods, but they are stronger.

Less weight = easier high-rev-ablitly
Less weight also = weaker ( unless we are talking about $1200 titanum rods )

Just b/c you can rev it, doesn't mean its making more power. I shift my D16Z6/A6 un-mini-me at 6500rpms and ran 14.6 on 10psi and stock 1'' exhuast and stock clutch ).

with that 1/4 mile time, I recommend you rev higher ;)
