whats up? Does anybody know the part number for the vtec solenoid gasket for a d16z6? I have heard that all of them are not the same from all the honda vtec motors.
I just went to the dealer and the dumb guy told me that I have to buy the whole vtec solenoid ($400) to get the gasket. Any company making an aftermarket one?

Honda makes a universal gasket :P.It comes in a tube and its called "Honda Bond".Its $11 a tube and I swear by it.There is nothing it cant seal !

 

The rubber gasket w/ the screen? yes.. you can buy it seperate, I bought one for B-series at the dealer.

Honda-bond doesnt go there.

 

Youd be surprised where Ive used it and its still holding :P

 

Honda bond is just rtv silicone, nothing special.. there is a rubber seal about 3mm thick that forms it's way all around the vtec solinoid that has a screen built into it.
