really my only suggestion would be to put it on a dyno...then move vtec around and see if you can see it on the dyno plat i have a z6 with a built head and i dont hear my vtec at all. im sure its working cause i would imagine i would get a code if something wasnt working right (ie oil pressure, spool valve) the only thing mechanical is the pins that lock the lobes. if anything else was wrong you would get a code. so the dyno is my only suggestion?!

maybe the rpm switch is bad...? double check your wiring from the switch to the solenoid. I know you said your wiring is right but more then likely its not. get the ---- on the dyno and move the vtec activation at lower and higher settings in the powerband. Compare it

I pull on my boys d16z6(my old civic coupe) in my stock a6 non-vtec 4 speed LMAO . I didnt notice any difference besides better torque in the a6 at lower rpms and a slightly longer power band in the z6 but the feeling of reving and activating the vtec is un-noticeable in my eyes and feels no different then my a6.

im pretty sure wiring is correct, but i guess ill have to put it on the dyno, im pretty sure VTEC is not coming on though. The car is fast though now that i advanced the timing. ALOT faster than my DOHC ZC that i ran a 15.7 in. So i dunno

1. You have the RPM Swtich @ 3k right? most rpm switches were meant for v8 so you have to use half the rpm to get the correct output.

2. use a vtec light (m4d tyt3 y0) to check the vtec wiring aspect.

3. do a 3rd gear pull from 2k and see if u can hear it.

its hard to hear/ feel in first or second because you pass it to quick. Pull third or fouth with an air intake or no filter so you can hear the crazy 5hp boost.
