VTEC not kicking in strong enough?
I have a JDM B16a2 motor and whenever VTEC kicks in. It dont kicks in hard enough. I can really feel the VTEC kicks in with the 99 Civic SI B16a. But when it comes to the JDM B16a2 motor. I just cant feel it. And the sound of VTEC is just not strong enough? Can it be that my VTEC solenoid is going bad?

Re:VTEC not kicking in strong enough?
Well, when I swapped a VTEC head on my 91 Accord the lil oil screen on the VTEC solenoid was clogged up almost all the way. That was playing hell with my VTEC enguagment. It would pop in/out/in/out or sometimes way late until enough pressure could be maintained to hold the lifter locks in place.
Also VTEC engines are real finicky to dents in the oil pan, low oil level etc.
So anyway, you might try that. Check the the lil screen on the solenoid. It requires removal of the solenoid to clean.
edit:
See #10? Thats the vtec solenoid oil screen.

definitely need to know what ecu... car.. etc... if it sounds like its kickin in half *** thats not a problem... feeling weak is a problem if its totally noticeable then something in the engine head might be fucked up
