vtec not kicking in

i have a obd2 p72 ecu running my gsr and the vtec never kicks in. Power is not being sent to the vtec solenoid. when i put a wire to the vtec solenoid and add 12 volt power to it, it kicks in. does someone know if its the ecu or if one of the vtec sensors is busted?

Re:vtec not kicking in

might be a broken wire, is the ECU throwing any codes? is the ECU chipped?

Re:vtec not kicking in

check the basic sistems that suply vtec with "power"

oil psi
speed
water temp
vtec wires

If the vtec solenoid works, as you said, then one of these have to be bad. 98ctr

Re:vtec not kicking in

ill check it out tommorrow, but as far as ecu codes i got none.
could it maybe be that i have no second o2 sensor?

Re:vtec not kicking in

nope shouldnt be the 2nd o2 sensor deal, i run my vtec ecu with the 2nd o2 sensor and vtec will still kick in. I think Maybe you have an electrical problem or... not enough oil pressure
