vtec head question
okay so my buddy bought a head it says pr3-4 I said it was b16 he says type R which is it?
I though the itr head head said p73? |
Re: vtec head question
pr3 is a b16/hype r casting
|
Re: vtec head question
same casting and some have same stamps.
internals are different and the itr has mild port job. look on the head by the dizzy. if there is a green stripe, its an ITR head. if it's still there. PR3-4 should be a B16A or ITR head (both are PR3-4) ... the year will be on the head by the ex mani, like little circles with numbers in them .... the first one is the year: 9|9 = 1998 or 1999 model 0|0 = 2000 or 2001 model |
Re: vtec head question
I have a b16 vtec head as well. it is also a Pr3-4 but the production date is 1989?? The person i bought it from said it was a CTR head. is this correct? if so is there anything better about it stock than the b16 usdm head?

Re: vtec head question
sounds like a regular b16 head to mean. i dont think the ctr was around then, since the ctr didnt show up til the ek's
