vtec difference between 02 vfr800 and car

I own a 2002 Honda VFR800 Interceptor motorcycle that is the only bike honda makes with vtec valves (800cc V4 motor). Im trying to figure out if it is the same as the honda car motors. Im not real sure on how the car vtec operates, but on the bike it is programmed in the ECU to operate on 2 valves per cylinder under 6800 rpm, and at 6800 rpm it changes to 4 valves per cylinder by triggering the solenoid valve that sends oil to fill the lifters for the vtec valves. At stock settings when the vtech kicks in it is a little too much to the point where on twisties where you hang around the 6800 rpm that it could cause a traction loss in the corner. On the 2006 models Honda lowered the engagement point to 6400 rpm i believe which is enough to eliminate this problem. An ECU swap to a 2006 model would be too expensive of an option. I would like to reprogram the 2002 stock ECU to lower the engagement point, but I have no idea how. No one at vfrdiscussion.com has been able to figure it out. Someone on there suggests to use a shift light set at around 6400rpm and instead of wiring it up to the light wire it up to the solenoid and poss. a second shift light to disengage at 6200rpm to smooth things out. Maybe someone here could throw me an idea or two.

Your vtec is comparable to a car's vtec-e.
