vortech supercharged ls/vtec dyno
 
I have a 99 si (ls/vtec) with a vortech supercharger. Got it tuned tonight, this peak run i am showing is after one and a half hours on the dyno, and my aftercooler was not cool at all....keep that in ming when lookin. Also i am only at 6 psi :( but anyway, dont flame too much. And for some reason they didnt have a fan on the car.....maybe thats why it got so hot. Im done with my excuses now.

My peak hp was 234.15 @ 7450 rpm and peak torque of 172.53 @ 7000 rpm.
Impressive or no?

get a 10 psi pully kit.That would be impresive.

234whp is still pretty damn good. I hate how the torque is so low. Damn Hondas. :-[

That 10psi pulley will be a nice improvement.

im gonna go back in a few weeks, now that it is tuned, i should be able to run a few times and get a peak. The aftercooler bein so hot was robbin me of a few ponies, im pretty sure of that.
the torque curve is real flat from 5000 to redline, i like that.

what kinda cam ru using..
coz i`ve seen some guy with JUN 3's. with a mild build (high cc, PP) motor makeing about the same power/tork NA...
add some turbo cams may be?

yeah, 6 psi isn't really ----, so those are some pretty good numbers. don't be scared to up it to 10 just because you fried your other engine ;)

stock cams....im gonna get some cam gears soon.
My belt is slipping some at the higher rpm's....after it breaks in more im gonna tighten it down some and see if i get more boost.

based on the curvature of the earth and the trajectory of european swallows upon northern migration patterns you had 30 less ft/lbs of torque before the super or something.

stock ls/v will do between 120-130 tq.. sorry, you gained 40-50.. still on 6psi I would have expeted more myself.. thats all.. if you're nervous about a 10psi pulley maybe you could get a 8psi custom one?

I think Endyne might have it.

I think Endyne might have it.

I was under the impression that ls/vtec's would do 120 to 130 torque at the crank....not at the wheels.
Im not nervous about 10 psi, i just havent swapped out the pullies yet.

dosent a vortech supercharger put out like 277 to the wheels on a stock b16?

at 10-11 psi they normally put down 277 hp and 180 torque to the wheels. I already have the same torque at 6 psi, i cant wait to see what 10 does for me.

I installed some type r cams in my car, and went to the dyno. My boost gauge would climb to 6 to 7 psi, but once vtec kicked on, it would drop to 6. For the hell of it we turned vtec off and made a run, and it ran up to 10 psi.....what could be causing this.
It is a vortech charger on a ls/vtec if that matters.
good news is i picked up 30 hp off of cams. 265@6 psi...not too shabby

It went to 10 psi because the engine can't suck in as much air out of vtec...

Did you change ur valve springs and retainers for that cam swap?

hopefully you did.. or your valves are going to meet the pistons at high revs do to the valves floating.
