does it do anygood to replace only valve spings in order to get a higher rpm?

Yup, aftermarket valve springs usually have more spring tension, thus holding the valves tight at the high rpms and not encountering valve train float.

Retainers/keepers dont let you rev higher, the fact they are lighter (titanium) equates to less valvetrain mass, so I guess it would rev a bit better?

We talking B-series or D-series?

lots of the B-series guys, swap GSR intake springs and put them on the exhaust side, and just buy a set of ITR intake springs for the I side.

D-series.. hmm, there are lots of companies that sell valvetrain componets for them, Zex/Crower/Manly/Ferrea/WEB/COMP and I'm sure there are some generic brands on ebay.

buy just doing valve springs alone you would be able to rev higher safely but wouldn't you be limited by the stock bump stick being able to produce power?

i read somewhere that there was longevity issues with aftermarket retainers, anyone is it true??

evolsol you are correct. The lightened parts help keep you out of valve float so you can safely rev higher, but that doesnt mean youll nessescerily be making more power, it depends. Ive heard that titanium retainers have longevity issues but i dont know for sure, i havent ran them. I have heard with stock honda valves not to get too crazy with spring tension, its hard on valves, so youd be better off with lightened parts first... lightened retainers and rockers first.

I was thinking with a turbo setup, it would be better to rev to a higher rpm safely without breaking ----.and maybe with bigger turbos that spools late will benefit from that. I have b16,is gsr spings better than b16? how much better?

Titianium retainers last only about year and a half. They are lighter but they wear out quicker. Why, i dont know but i know a lot of poeple who have ruined motors due to the retainers taking a ---- after a years worth of abuse. Another thing about springs probably be a good idea to do the valves due to the valves sretching out, due to the more tension on the top where the retainers go.
