VAFC settings
 

I have a VAFC in my car and was wondering if there is anyway to adjust the fuel maps without a dyno? My car is an 88si/D16Y8

Are you serious? Why wouldn't you be able to adjust them without a dyno? Do you mean acurately? Yes of course. I think about 99% of the people that have them didn't use a dyno.

Yes i am serious. i talked to one of the tech guys at apexi and he told me that the only way to get anything out of it was on a dyno. if i go out here and start adjusting the fuel maps how do i know if i'm doing good or harm. do i need to increase or decrease fuel while i'm in vtec? or will i have to get an air/fuel gauge before i do any adjusting? any help is greatly appreciated.

To get 100% out of your motor a dyno would be the best route, but you can just "feel" it out and tune it pretty close. If you don't know what you are doing I would suggest taking it to a dyno. A wideband 02 would help you a lot. You could tune it on the street. The only problem is that they are expensive. You could use one of those Autometer A/F gauges, but they are not near as precise as a wideband. If you are planning on taking this on yourself, just remember richer is better than leaner. If you have any doubts, turn the gas up.
