v-tec top speed
 

my 91hatchsi with soch 1.6vtech runs fine rev good and is quick. but the car top out at 110mph @5000rpm. is this the top speed of the 95 dsol ecu i'am running or the 95 dsol engine or is it the 91si stock bolt parts. help the vtech works good car redline at around 7000rpm and car is obd1.

The fuel cutoff for speed is 125-133MPH in stock sols. If you rev the P28 ECU up you should hit the gas cutoff at 7500 RPM. If you have the P28 and not getting this chances are the ECU is being "funny". I have ran into a few issues with non standard P28 ECU's

wouldnt the ecu out of a teg work alot better and rev higher? i know i have a ecu in my crx from a teg and it doesnt even redline ive reved it to 10g's and no cutoff... to bad the clutch slips like a mofo!! with a mini swap :)

how are you using a teg ecu on a mini-me?...with a vafc?

it works... its a 89 teg ecu the car is a 90 crx dx.. with si - mini me swap... with a v-afc.. but we sold the vafc it was workin fine .. but my friends making a adapter to go obd1 so we dont need the vtec controller...

i'm usin an 87 teg ecu in my 87 crx, and it doesn't have a redline or fuel cutoff either lol, i missed a gear once and pinned the tach at 8k :/

lol.. we did the si mini me swap on it and installed the $350 vafc took the thing to the track with the 1.5 tranny and a slippin clutch and ran a 17.7 in the 1/4 shh dont tell anyone.!! then reved the ---- out of it all the way home at like 10 g's if the clutch woulda held up it woulda hauled ass!!

if you have different rims/tires on your car that are not the same diameter as the stock ones your speedometer is off. 15mph at that speed if you changed the tire size.

so it's working right, if thats the case.

my civic handle very well at these speeds,c-over,s-bar whole nine and my engine perfect 76,xxxmi, i guess i want my honda to be like my 86 merkur xr4ti she get up to 140+ with no problem,it's got 150mph on dash but i never had the guts to do. here in detroit,mi we do alot of freeway battles and this is mustang,vett,old school hotrod land, i just want to keep up.

yeah, i had my 93 teg up to 120 one time and the ---- started shaking, and started to smell something like burning rubber???? theres no need for all that ----, besides, i don't think i'll ever reach that speed by the time i reach the end of 1/4 mile, so it really doesn't matter ;)

no speed gov.
my 95 ex 2 dr hit 150+mph with CAI at 4th gear.

I live about 20 mins away from detroit but ---- man I'd like too see all you guys come down to MI someday and love to see you stick with the muscle up here! anyone here run 8's in a street car? no didn't think so.... 1/4 mile not 1/8 for all you smart asses lol ;D

My Huffy can hit 214. Honesty. All I added was the dice valve caps and the plastic BMX wheel covers. :-)

Actually, the one time I maxed my car out in NA form, I hit 138 according to my friends corvette's speedo. That was at a slight downgrade too, so I kinda cheated.

Mind you i had a crower cam, I/H/E, MSD ignition, no fuel cut, VAFC, 1/2 an interior, no cat, and no brain in my head.

Top speed is gay. That's how you go from an idiot to either a dead idiot or an idiot with no license.

everyone gets stupid some times...personal best was 145 in my vr-4 ( i pussied out and let off..that was from a 5mph start in 8/10ths of a mile)...how the ---- did you go 150 with just a cai...i call bs

i don`t know how .....it`s like 3 in the morning and theer`no car at all on the freeway...
so just punch it at 4th gear...it just keep climbing slowly after like 120...somehow it goes up to about 150(7 oclock)
..so dame fast and afraid teh tire may pop ??? and give up

2000 Civic si=141mph (down a mountain). There's no way you hit 150. My bs meter is going off too.

i live by dexter/davison best side westside. well my boy is behide me lol about the 120 teg,his 91 escort gt runs 130+ easy. well back to me i came across this web site in ligth of making a kit for my honda not doing that now but i will be intercooling my 86 merkur xr4ti w 3in turbo back and svo ecu. i will be working on the my wife and her 325ic she want big chrome rims this is bad. now the new toy i will pick her up monday a 92 beretta gtz 5sd quad 4(180hp)150 to the road. honda will be getting zex cam and more bolt on. ps don't talk top speed of my xr 150 on dash and will do it i hit 141 with 4 people on 94 by the airport.

I sprayed my 1.5L DX with MPFI swap and Si head and all I got was 124mph.

Funny after I let off the car shut off, I waited like 3 seconds ( while laughing ) and turned it over, and it wouldn't start. About 5 seconds later I tried again, and it crunk-up, but was spudering like crazy, but drove kinda. I got about 2 miles up the road ( after babying it ) and desided to reset the ECU b/c the CEL was on, so I popped the hood and the manifold ( factory one ) was glowing it the dark, I thought I could see right though it !!! I reset the ECU, and the car ran perfect !!! Drove it home.

I put about 3 more bottles though the D15b2, and now I have a D16Z6 in it, but the D15B2 NEVER quite. The car ran 15.1 with me patting the clutch EVERY shift b/c the original 155K mile clutch was slipping. I can't wait to see what my car will do with the D16Z6 and nitrous !!

My friend tapped the redline in his JRSC D16A6 crx at about 127mph, so I highly doubt that BS poster was doing 150, my Stealth R/T from the factory maxes at 156mph, and is geared REALLY high !!

ya that was 150 km/hr, no way you could hit that with just an intake, in 4th? dont think so your gearing only would take you to 120-130ish

redline in a crx in 5th (si trans d16a6) is 147mph, and it takes a turbo to get it up there in 5th, also even well tuned you will prob burn up being at/near redline for that long. i have been in a car when that happened. (91 civic si/td04/d16a6/9psi/vafc/450cc's/dsm ic)

I was gonna say... my speedo only goes to 120mph (94 civic) and some indiglo gauges go to 140mph, but I'm sure it's off by a good 15-20 mph by that point. Also, don't be stupid, there's no need to go that fast. That lil airbag ain't gone save your ass when that "H" rated Kuhmo blows at over 120mph.

I got my 95 civic, to 165mph on a gtec meter racing a 5 series bmw, which I smoked the ---- out of, on the AUTOBAHN.upgrades, jdm b16, port and polished head, still stock internals, dc headers,aem cai, fireball catback,obx cat,msd ignition,b&m fpr, jun ecu chip(ebay) in a p28 ecu, tach at 87000, speedo below the zero, and I think could went higher, I also had a zex kit I did not sqeeze, NO BS.

My friends stang smacked my brother ( Z-28 ) by like 5 cars, yet the G-tech said the Z-28 was like 1sec faster, like 5 times !!

you saying im full of bs?....think about it...its about a 360 hp car with tall gearing...stock at 9 psi is over 150 mph..i run 15psi on that car..ive hit 145 before in 8/10ths of a mile, and my buddy told me i hit over 150 (the last time i looked down it was at 140)...then we had to slow down for traffic
