Re: using 2 block guards

the reason i ask, i have a spare b2 block and want to build it to go with my a6 head
and boost it just because its diff. i'm not looking for 400hp,300hp maybe around 200hp if poss. allready have 112whp my plans are to get some pauter rods,je pistons
balance the crank n micro it add a turbo of some kind and maybe boost 15-18lbs

I know i'll get flamed for this because its a d15b2 block which noone likes but with a block guard maybe 2 if it can be done those numbers could be poss. with a good tune lmk what you think

I cant see 2 block gaurds being better then 1, If I was to use a block gaurd I would file it so it fit in perfectly then weld it in. I think when you hammer those bitchs in they distort to much ----, ie moving cylinders, taking cylinders out of round. remember .001 (1 thousands of a inch) will change ----.

Ditch the B2. Takes custom rods for the D15's, if I remember correctly. At least, no one who shelf stocks D15 rods at a good price exists.

Pick up a SOHC D16, run inexpensive Tunertoys or Eagle rods, and whatever your flavor is in pistons. Pour the block with epoxy. You can keep the B2 head, as it is the same unit as the much vaunted A6, only with a poopy cam. Replace cam with anything from factory A6 to $$$ aftermarket unit. You'll save a few bucks, and the extra 100cc displacement means a lot too.

I here what u are saying about the rods anywhere from 500.00-735.00 but thats ok
I only drive the HB maybe 5 times a mounth its my crusier thats why i want to keep the b2 w/a6 because its diff. and boost 15-18 so if it blows it blows than i'll go to a 1.6 block but for now the 1.5 w/block guard I also still have that Gude cam i can put in if nobody wants to buy it

if you can find a JDM D15b crank you can put it in your b2 and use any type of a6 rods such as oem or forged. I just found that out last night. thought it might help you out. since you can find a6 rods pretty cheap compared to b2s.
