Default use my block or buy new one

i have a y-8 block that has been overheated once, and i have a y-7 block that hasn't been over heated but has a scratch in the #2 wall from a screwed piston ring should i use the y-8 but do a light hone job or just buy a new block i just ordered new pistons, rods, bearings, and rings. oh and also i have a fully built y-8 head... its going into a 96 civic ex im thinking about a A6 block but im not sure? i have a turbo set up for it and im waiting on my next check to get a chipped ecu right now im running a afc

any suggestions would help

id just use the y8 block but before you do, make sure the deck surface is flat so you dont start blowing headgaskets

i wouldnt run a d16y block.

the only way i would run one would be with a d16z6 oil pump, pickup and pan, and if you do that you lose having a dipstick altogether.

i have a z6 oil pump....whats wrong with running the y series are they pretty weak?
