Upgrading brakes of my ED7

well somebody knows i got an EF (EDM) , it has bended discs, iwas thinking about to runing with ITR calipers i can get, with 11 (maybe 12"?)....i was researching some info about this , found some topics about this but what i want is runing with all stock (means Knuckles....etc.) so i need this :

1/8" wheel spacer
ITR calipers /legend (23T brackets i can get)
Discs 11 or maybe 12 inchs (i was thinking in getting Power Slot Big brakes).

What do you think? i think can run good but not sure in all.. calipers bolt paresnt are the same than ED7 capilers?

P.S. I assume 15inch or 16 for 12 inch is minimun wheels i should be running.

The SiR EF's have a 10" disc and a large caliper, I'd personally go with that setup. Just make sure to get the entire spindle with the hub and everything and bolt it on and go. I just did a DA integra spindle and brake swap on my ED6, but I haven't driven it yet to see how it feels...need to get it aligned first. You really shouldn't need anything larger than that in an ED chassis unless you're doing some major autocross type of driving. Then I could see wanting 11" brake setup. Check out www.fastbrakes.com if you want an 11" rotor setup on the cheap. They make an adapter that uses a 11" VW corrado rotor and a DA integra caliper and mount bracket that bolts on to your stock ED spindles.

Re: Upgrading brakes of my ED7

To add to your awesome brake setup, get a 15/16's master cylinder too Walter. I'm noticing that my DA calipers have a little more pedal travel than I want with the 7/8's master I put on there to replace my worn out 15/16's.

im pretty sure there kits use a redrilled Prelude rotor, i really dont see how the ---- your gonna get a Corrado rotor to work with honda calipers... im 99% sure there are kits to use the Corrado rotors, not doubting that, its just that they use Willwood calipers in those kits...

Re: Upgrading brakes of my ED7

Did you car come with 240 or 262mm rotors? 240mm rotor cars can use the 262mm car calipers with the 280mm rotors from the Corrado and our adapter kit.

If the car came with 262mm rotors then you have to use the ITR calipers with our 282mm rotors.
that's reply fastbrakes.com did give me. ----, i wanna use ur ITR calipers turboHF :-\

It has to do with the way the adapters mount to the spindle to space the caliper out a bit. I personally have seen 2 cars locally running this setup, and they say it works flawlessly. I've even checked out corrado rotors...it will work, and the lug pattern is exactly the same. Older VW 4 lug is the same as Honda civic style 4-lug.

i was trying to use Power SLot big brake kit 92-95 civic for my EF..but i asked them (powerslot ) , they dont make one kit for EF .. i was wondering if i can use adapter brakefast with those rotos.. lugs are the same..

The lug spacing isn't a problem with rotors, it's the backspacing of the rotor itself. I think you're best bet (seeing that you're already going to swap that b16 of yours in anyway ;) ) is maybe try and track down some edm SiR front spindles and the matching master cylinder. Granted they're not an 11" rotor, but it's still a 10" and the 10" rotors on my ED6 stops beautifully.

Re: Upgrading brakes of my ED7

well those powerslot rotos come with that backspacing i think.. look:

Yeah, those powersluts are corrado rotors and the brackets space the DA caliper out to match up. Just don't forget the 15/16's master cylinder to go with it. ;)

Re: Upgrading brakes of my ED7

are them corrado rotos? ¿? they are slotted 302mm or so.. it would be great the Big Brake Kit Power Slot for 92-95 civic will fit on my ED7 :-\

No, you can't use the 92-95 kit...only the 88-91. Powerslot offers the rotors as well on the fastbrakes website for the 11" corrado rotor upgrade...that's what I thought the pictures were of.

Walter 07-02-2007 06:29 PM

Re: Upgrading brakes of my ED7

powerslot doesnt make 88-91 big brake rotos :-\ so, power slot make Big Brake kits for Corrado that fit on my car, thats what youre meaning? :P
