un mini me problem

I was running an a6/y8 setup while I got my a6 head portmatched with a ported z6 intake. Well I unmini me'd it and forgot to put back in that oil restrictor in the block. I've ran the engine this way on 10psi for a month or two. When i switched heads I noticed my stock bore srps were getting burnt up and were having some piston slap issues, I was also getting some smoke. so I picked up a block and got it bored out to .020 Je's. I ripped out the engine yesterday and started switching everything over to my new block when I noticed I had never put the oil restrictor back in. So Im wondering if my oil burning would have had anything to do with to much oil pressure in the head and it getting past my valve seals? The engine would burn oil mostly under lots of vacume, ie engine braking, idleing for long times. Should I replace my valve seals before puting the head on my new block?

without the oil restrictor ALOT of oil is feed to the head, starves the rod bearings.

Likely so much oil it won't drain back fast enough, and you'd get a cropduster.

that is what I figured. my rod and main bearings are fine, so it didnt starve my bottom end to bad. As for all that oil pressure up in the head, would that wear on the valve seals?

with all the extra oil supply, the head will be fine.

only affects if the head isnt getting anof oil but thats not your case so it should be fine.
