Turbo b18
Hello all,
I've been lurking here for a while, and I think I'm finally going to take the leap into the turbo realm. I want something good for 10psi, that will spool REALLY fast. I do mostly road racing so I want smooth power delivery. Will a te04h turbo be a good option? I'm debating purchasing one from a member here, but want your input.
Thanx
Brent
P.S. If this needs to be moved, then just tell me.

Re: Turbo b18
The TE04H is way small in my opinion. Does it come from a 250HP car? -no.
most cars equipped with it made around 150 hp stock and when you manage to squeeze 200 HP from it, it doesn't last long because maxed out.
when i turbocharge a B18, i normally use the t3 60 trim 0.48/0.60 60 a/r. it spools up very crisp and never dies at high rpms.
But I boost them at only 7-8 psi on a safe tune. That's not even making 250 HP.
if you want to try your luck and push even more boost like 10+ psi, and with a nice aggressive tune, you can use a small t3/t4, such as t04B s trim or t04e 40 trim and a ported 0.48 a/r turbine, with watercooling. you could get over 300 HP with that. Is it safe to do this on a stock engine? I don't think so. But it has been done.
