anyone know where i can find a cheap "mainshaft holder tool" online? so I can take apart a tranny? thanks

What exactly are you doing to the tranny?I took apart a couple, put a LSD in one and re assembled stock another without any specialty tools

mainshaft holder tool only need for checking the mainshaft thrust washer..........

I've never needed it

split tranny apart, pull the gearsets out, and use air gun with 30mm socket. MAKE SURE to use a leather glove to hold the gearshaft or else your hand gonna be cut up from the sharp gear teeth.........

A couple shop towels work well too.

i just use a vice and some pieces of wood to hold the countershaft in place while I break the nut loose

one hit with a rubber mallet on the top, use the gears as slide hammers. leather glove + rubber hammer works pretty good too
