tranny Q's- need help

has anyon replaced synchros in their s20 transmission before?? my 2nd to 3rd gear synchro is going, and my throw-out bearing is bad, so i have to pull the tranny anyways, so i figured now would be a good time to replace those if i could. any info is appreciated.

how do you know the synchros are bad??????

Have you open the tranny to inspect them or just blaming them because of a 2-3 grind???????

$1 sez you have a worn or broken 1-2 shifter fork, also likely the input shaft bearing is toast.

If you want synchros, they are $150 for 2-3-4, carbon coated from Gearspeed.com

I've yet to test them, but feel there is no need for them, in MY opinion.

S20's are my specialty......

Re: tranny Q's- need help

its a 95 civic ex coupe. the thing is it doesn't grind when i first get in the car, it has to warm up first. and after it warms up i have to wait for a sec. to be able to shift with out a grind. so i just thought that was the problem. i'm no expert thou. :-\

so is it easy to change those? i'd just like to get the fucked up ones if possible, i'm on a tight budget. or should i just pull the tranny and take it somewhere?? lemme know what you think.

take it somewhere expect 500+ for labor alone. Your best bet is too get a trans that doesnt grind and learn on this trans while you car still runs
