Re:trannies, please explain

one is operated by a cable (clutch cable type) similar to say a throttle linkage/cable system (pulls up and down)

the other is hydraulic, It uses fluid through lines to a slave cylinder that engauge/diss-engauge's the clutch. (pushes in and out)

Similar to say a brake system on a car, with a master cylinder and a caliper.

Both are easy to work with..

ah, I get it now, your words are similar to pictures, in that there are thousands of them in numbers. so which does my d15b2 have? I'm going to guess that it's hydro since I think I found one of those slave cylinders under the hood on the driver's side.

No that would be the master cylinder for the brakes... The d15b2 on 4g civics use Cable style transmissions. The large cable goes from the lh side of the engine bay all the way accross (above valve cover) to the under side of the battery.

Have someone get in the car and press in the clutch a few times and you will see whats going on.

92+ Civics & 94+ Integras all have Hydro trannies.
