TPS sensor Problems car wont run..
 

ok so i broke my TPS the car ran like crap wouldnt get past like 1500 rpm...

I replaced it today and it idled at 3K so i though vacuum leak and i siloconed my map sensor thingy where i took off emisssions and stuff. Now it wont like get past 1K And gives me a code 7 again :(

I took of the plug into the TPS sensor and there is %v from the input and 3.6V on the other one ?? shouldnt it be zero when Its not even pluged in?

Any ideas here? Also anyone know how to calibrate these damn things? and if I screwed my map sensor would it throw a code?

take out the TPS and reinstall it i will bet its in there wrong....

when u install a TPS you have to calibrate it. check the voltage at Idle, it should be around .5v or .45v, or .55v, check your Helms manual for an exact #. If it's off you have to loosen a couple screws and find out where it gives off the correct voltage, then tighten. Also, ,if you usedd a DX TPS it wont work because they are backwards.

what car u have, engine and where u got the new TPS??

i would just get a whole nother throttle body :) its much easier and you know you have the right one. i know that tps' are sensitive lil pieces of chit hence why ill just buy a new throttle body with on on it alredy. if its for a 88-91 SOHC si or 92-95 SOHC vtec, send me a im ill sell cheap.
