Toyota Charging system Help!!!!
Well i have the chance to pick up a 90 celica, for dirt cheap, but it has something wrong with it,I was told the battery wont hold a charge, or should i say wont charge at all.
I jump start the car, let it idle for 15 mins, then i dissconnect the battery, and turn the lights on and the car dies, then i try to start the car and it wont click over, battery probably didnt charge, jump start it and try again, this time reving up a little and the car dies again. well i dont know ---- about toyotas, but it should apply that all cars should be able to run on their own power supplied by the alternator unless the alternator is bad SO my question is do you guys think that the alternator is bad, or their might be something else wrong with the car, relays, wiring???? |
Re: Toyota Charging system Help!!!!
if u remove the battery while its running and ur engine dies its probably because the alternator is ----

Re: Toyota Charging system Help!!!!
Take your battery out of the car, and your alternator. Drive to a NAPA, have them benchtest your alternator, and put a load on your battery. Then you'll know for sure which one is bad, could be both. Good luck

Re: Toyota Charging system Help!!!!
yea have the alternator test out at autozone for free. as of the battery if it is the one that came with the car, i would use it as a core and buy one of those rebuilt battery for like 20 bucks. :y
