torque on head bolts

what do i torque the head bolts down to on a ls/vtec motor?

22 pounds the first round

i set mine about 60

honda says 47

work it from inside out..the head bolts i mean..:P

I torqued mine to 70. I hear it gives you an extra 15whp.

Don't forget the copper spray.

No way. It brings the head closer to the block which raises the compression, effectively adding 15whp.

Just hold a 1/2" Impact Gun on them for a while

DONT hold a fucken impact gun on them!

If these are stock go for about 65, if they are arp follow their directions. Either way go from the inside out and go in a star pattern.

Just buy a set of arp's your not supose to use head bolts twice and I think OEM head bolts are more than ARP's.

And theirs nothing wronge with using a Impact gun :P
