Re: timing belt tensioner spring?????

usually the spring comes with the tensioner but as far as the cam seals go if they are not leaking why ---- with them

whats gonna be cheaper? the $5 spring....... or replacing the valves if ur tensioner gives out and ur pistons smack the valves becuase ur t-belt has no tension?

It IS ur car tho....so

I usually like to tighten the bolt for the tensioner so i don't have that issue. I doubt the spring itself would keep anywhere near enough tension on the belt to keep the cams in check.

i dont know why the spring is even there. it doesnt do anything once you tighten the bolt down. it does help to have it when you are putting the belt on, but after that it is useless
