Default are these the mounts

i wanna put my b16 in my hatch i was wondering if these look like the mount that you dont need to smash the drivers side so the alt will clear any help would be great thanks oh its a 89 civic

i'd just fork out the few extra dollars to get new ones. i wouldnt take a chance on those. they look pretty beat up, prob a few years old. hell my mounts are 3 1/2 years old and dont look like that.

I don't think i've ever really heard of a B-series mount that you didn't have to bang a section of frame for the alternator to clear. If you look closely at a japanese EF Si-R chassis you will notice a neat little notched area for the alternator to clear. Unfortunately USDM ED chassis's don't have this notched area. I used a little 9 pound sledge on mine to make clearance. A little touch up paint and no one will notice anyway.

i thinki could have gotten away w/o making the dent. i just would have needed to put the belt on after the engnie was in

You probably can get away with no denting the frame...just gonna suck *** when you go to change your alternator belt cause there's not gonna be enough room to get another one on. That's the only big reason i can visually see for whacking in the frame
