Building up a vitara setup just honed the cylinders and noticed some scratches on the cylinder walls?/ U guys think there alright?? Ive rebuild engines before with marks like these but this engine i actaully care about lol!! So what yall think??
SHould i try to hone them out?? I think there just surface scratches but thought i would get a second opinion.

thanks for the info.. ahh have u guys ever honed cylinders without using a ball hone?? A ball hone is the only one that leaves cross hatch patterns...I used a regular hone that has 3 legs... it wont leave a cross hatch patern..The hone job isnt done either.. I stopped as soon as i noticed these marks...
This is what it looks like..
Ill probbaly just get it bored over a tad.. Yea chris alot over 100k actually lol 172k to be exact lol!!

have you seen a professional honing machine? they usually have 3 stones as well.
you have to move the honing tool up and down to make the cross hatches. too fast = tall cross hatches. too slow = flat cross hatches.
same with hand or machine honing tool.
You'll get it.
at least your trying to build this block the right way.
good luck!
