just wanted to know what can i do to fix the problem when the z6 engine belt tensioner bolt hole is stripped? what can i use to rethread it. The bolt hole uses a 14mm bolt but the hole seem to be larger than the bolt itself. What can i buy to fix it? not sure what to buy at sears.

i can use the helicoil thread repair even if the bolt hole is larger than the bolt itself? Or do i need to get something to insert in the hole?

 

You insert a helicoil in the hole and it will retain the original diameter even after the hole is been enlarged.Go hit up the parts store with the original bolt to referance for size.

you can use time-sert thread repair also.

Bring your bolt to Napa and tell them what you want. They will have a helicoil kit/repair kit for you.
