temp gauge

ok, heres the deal. yesterday i noticed that when i accelerate hard with my heat on my temp gauge drops a lot. it was also very cold yesterday, prolly atleast 30 degrees out. i dont think its my stat because i replaced it a few months ago. i have a dual core radiator in the car, its a 92 civic dx, it came with a single core. doubt that is the problem tho. any ideas whats causing this?

my car does that too if it is REALLY REALLY cold outside and i don`t let it warm up for a while (drive) before i turn on the heat,

Re:temp gauge

it did it when the car had been running for a while and was at operating temp. i can cruise fast, but if i take it up to around 5k rpm it starts dropping but then starts going back up when i let off

Re:temp gauge

im going to try replacing the stat. i bought a really cheap autozone one so im hoping that the problem will go away once i do that. you said bad ground, are there any particular grounds that make a temp gauge act funny? or could it be any one of them?
