temp gauge....

Default temp gauge....

hey guys whats crackin? im lookin into buyin a rex with a swapped b16, and the only thing that i notice wrong is the temp gauge is always at hott? the car runs nice and doesnt over heat....any ideas?

is it the stock gauge? does this car have indoglo gauges or anything that would cause the gauge to stick, or maybe not put back in right?

yeah its the stock gauges...i just learned that after the radiator was replaced, the needled would alsways point to hot....even in the cold winter mornings,as soon as that baby started up...BAM! straight to the top the needle went...

sounds like the sender or sender wiring is grounded.

in the shop manaul it says to test the gauge you ground the sender wire and you're supposed to unground it before it reaches the top or you're fuxored.

smack the top of the cluster cover. Mine does this, it'll be normal temps and I'll hit a bump and boing, right to H, then i smack the cover, back to normal, til the next bump that is. I bet mine is grounding out somewhere behind the cluster.
