tech help needed for D16z6 build
Hi There, i'm hopeing someone can give me some direction for my project build , I am planning to build a D16Z6 for mostly track use and mild street, it will be turbo'd. my goal is to make around 250whp, and be able to spin safely to around 7800 rpm and be reliable all day (as possible). What suggestions could you give me for work that must be done in order to relize this goal, My thoughts are I need rods, pistons, race port and poilish and springs. and ecu upgrade. Secondly any suggestions for ecu upgrades eg hondata? crome and does anyone know anyone tuning in the Ontario Canada area? thanks
thanks for the info, my reason for more rpm is not for street use as you are correct for street use the factory limit is fine, but for track use i will be on some tight turns and long straits so more top end rpm would be a great help considering the short gears on the crx....
you can rev the stock head fairly safely to 7800...isn't the revlimit 7200 anyway? I think 8k is fairly reasonable if you maintain the car well and keep an eye on valvelash. just my opinion though

I've been wondering about the same thing, trying to figure out what to do when my current stock block is toast. The vitaras will take the beating when you are running mostly in boost (when not braking) for 20-30 minutes without failing?
vitaras are a cast piston just like your stock ones, they are just a cheap alternative for a low compression piston without going aftermarket ballurrrr. With a good tune, they will take all the beating you put on them, like any normal piston. The reason for forged is for XXXXXXtreme boost/power levels, or just for that added security if you ever do have detonation.
