The Honda crank is balanced from the factory, but rebalancing never ever hurts. New bearing are a must, as is a new oil pump. I'm rebuilding my built Z6 AGAIN because I was too cheap to replace the pump. Go and get a set of feeler gauges and some platigauge (like $10 total), and at least measure bearing clearances, endplay, etc. Whatever you can measure.

Also, if you put new rings in, you MUST hone the cylinder walls.

Alright Buddy. I rebuilt my Z6 myself. I didn't put in forged rods or pistons so I didn't have to balance the crank. If you do use forged pistons and rods you will have to do this. Plus it makes more horsepower. I bought a head geasket from Honda. $75. They redesigned the Z6 gasket from a three layer to a four layer. They have a warranty on it. If it blows bring it back and they replace it for free. Have your crank polished and get new bearings from Oriellys or some auto parts store $60. If you get bigger pistons you will have to have you block bored and honed. If you stay with the same size pistons, have it only honed. You need new valve seals(these are cheap and worthwhile. And have them put a 3 angle valve job on your valves. Thats what I got. Any more is over kill for street applications. You als need a valve cover gasket, piston rings, oil pan gasket, hondabond from honda this is the sealant that goes on certain things. It is in the rebuild manual. I did the rebuild myself except for the machine work. I had the guy put in my pistons, valve seals and my valves in. Any tool I didn't have I rented. I bought an engine stand for $50. Its worth it. The bolt are a fine thread for the engine stand, I found out the hard way. If you do it yourself follow every step in the book or you could ---- something up. Have a shelf to put only parts on and nothing else. AND LABLE EVERYTHING YOU TAKE OUT WITH MASKING TAPE. any bolt that can be put back in the hole that it was in, put it back in so you don't lose it. If you have a basic understanding of how to take things apart and put them back together you can do this. It cost me $112 at the machine shop for him to do everthing I couldn't do and for parts it was around $300 plus my time. Have Fun.

lol, pumps usually go bad but people just dont realize it untill they go KABOOOOOOOOOOM. and always SEAT the rings. read manuals, they'll show you what to do. and take it easy, i didnt on my first zc pistons/rods/d16z6/carbed and i went KABOOOOOOOM in 300 miles. my rings snapped cause they werent seated and i drove that thing like i stole it. learn from me.lol.

Ok let me make sure i got this correct for my application.
1995 D16z6. What im buying for it. Pistons & Rings, Connecting Rods.
What i will need to do for bottom end.
1. Get Crank Balanced and ground
2. Get All new bearings.. also to match ground crank
3. Get Block Honed.. since im using same size pistons
4. Get New Oil Pump
5. Get New Oil pan Gasket.

For the top end
1. Get New Head Bolts
2. Get Head Milled to make sure no leakage and no warpage
3. Get New Valve Seals
4. Get 3 Angle Valve Job
5. Get New Valve Cover Gasket
6. Get New Head Gasket

Is there anything that i am missing... and if someone has the prices for each of those it would be nice to post....

Im talking pretty much strictly inside the engine i know i gotta replace all the other stuff..
