Re:Tachometer Question
waggle the blue wires going to your dissy while the engine is running if it idles wierd then it will prob be your ignitor coil....

Re:Tachometer Question
It changes the idle when i wiggle the blue wire so You are rite. How hard would it be for me to replace the ignitor coil?
Thanks alot for the help |
Re:Tachometer Question
It sounds like you just have a shorting wire or bad connector. The ignitor and coil are two separate parts inside the distributor, which are replaced pretty easily. It helps to have a Helms manual for detailed instructions.

Re:Tachometer Question
here is my 2cents pull the cap off, then pull the rotor and cover off. check for loose wires. dont worry it has a keyway you wont be able to put it on wrong look at the dis. the igniter is the thin square thingy on the side of the dis. the coil will be on the top if still in the car and the igniter will be hard to see take the dis out and put the coil on your right side. its on the bottom now. 2 screws and 3 wires (remember where the wires go or it will be bad when you put it back together.) will pull it out. 2 more screws hold it to a plate. install is same in reverse.

Re:Tachometer Question
if you have an aftermarket coil jus hook the tach wire up the the negative side
