tach is wrong
 

my tach is reading wrong i tried 2 different ecus and i have a new dizzy off ebay. at first i thought it was the tach in the dash that was ---- but then i went and put an autozone tach in and it was still fucked. the tach reads 5500 and thats all,but i hooked up a multi meter to it and it was saying 8900 which is high but it has a chipped ecu. so i dont know what to do about it. any help would be great... i tried searching found nothing

when you said you hooked up the multi meter it read 8900? sounds to me like you have more than a techometer issue there. what exactly is the car doing? is it stock, modded(aka bolt ons, turbo, supercharged??). need more information regarding this problem.

its an ls bult na its got 10.5 to 1 compression and crower stage 2 cams. dh valvetrain. cam gears and basic bolt ons. i have an ecu chipped for all my mods with crome. it was also doing this bfore i got the new ecu. i didnt have it running long enough to notice if the old dizzy had this prob. my coil when out and i bout a new one off ebay. i was thinking maybie that was my problem.
