tach no work, help please

so my tach worked off and on when I was trying to get my ---- running with the turbo, now it doesn't work at all. I hooked up my old sunpro right at the big blue wire coming off the distributor and it didn't work either, just sat at 0 (yes, I'm 100% sure it was hooked up right and the car was running). what could be the problem? I replaced the module with one from my p06 distributor (obd1 nonvtec d) and the car runs fine, but still no tach. any suggestions?

i believe the coil is responsible for the tach output.. did u replace that or the ign module?

I would check the ignitor which is internal of the dist, had a car the other week did the exact same thing and that fixed it.

I replaced the module, that little thing that 4 wires attach to. I'll try the coil today if I have time, thanks for the input, I'll see how it goes.

*edit* just replaced the coil, it still doesn't work, any other ideas?

I would say it has something to do with your wiring.....somehow....someway. I've got a hunch. ;)

all I did to wire in the tach was match a blue wire to a blue wire on a plug with only 2 wires. the rest was done by a canadian in 1988. plus, if I'm running a tach right off of the distributor, even before I spliced in the obd0 plugs, it couldn't be my wiring, it has to be the distributor.

and spenser, if 2 tachs don't work a third one isn't going to work either.
