I can't figure out how to install my sway bar. First off i have a 96 civic 4dr and the sway bar is from a 99 si. I was looking at where to mount it but what do i take off to install it? I also have a H bar and never received instruction to how to install. What do i pull off to mount this up also?

it's probably just the OEM bar of an Si. If you honestly can't figure out a sway bar (usually 2 bushing mounts and 2 endlinks), you probably shouldn't be working on your car. As for the H-brace, email who you got it from...

 

Yes it's an oem. The way i see it is i want to learn how to modify my car. You have to start from some where. I doubt you woke up one morning and knew everything you know now.

 

get a haynes manual if its that hard I think everyone who works on thier own cars has atleast 2 of em, cuz the 1st one they got has grease on more than 3/4 of the pages hahaa

No, I just figured I want to do that, so I did it. If I couldn't figure it out, I used the air chisel and made it work. Simple ---- like a swaybar should come naturally if you are mechanically minded at all.

 

I'm not mechanically minded, i don't have much experience working on cars. The biggest job i've done on my car is install my tranny. And that's b/c i seen someone do it before all it takes is one time of watching someone do the job and then i got it. If you read above i ask if i need to put holes in to install the sway bar.

 

no bro, you shouldnt have to drill holes to install your sway bars....they should bolt into the upper strut tower bolts in the engine bay....and i dont know if someone has asked, but why are you trying to install a 99 si strut bar on a 96? are strut bars different from 99 and 96? that could be your problem
