swap question 92 si

some guy is try to sell me a 92 si block from a hatch for 100 bucks, but its just the shortblock, can i put my a6 head on that and make it work? it only has 55,000 miles and that beats the 200000 on my a6. is this possible? thanks ;D

Re:swap question 92 si

not sure, but if it's a DOHC then i can say NO for sure. my friend has a 94 dx, and it's a D15B7, and you can swap a A6 head onto that. I'd ask him what the codeon the block is. it's on the passenger side, front of the block, just below the head.

Re:swap question 92 si

i know a Z6 head goes to an A6 block without probs, so i can't see any reason a A6 head wouldn't go to a Z6 block. compression might be a little lower now, but i'm not positive of that.

Re:swap question 92 si

I would say no.. It will all bolt up but the Z6 block dose not use an Oil Jet like the A6. I say Buy the block buy a z6 or y8 head and you will have a cheap swap

Re:swap question 92 si

he could T outa the oil pressure housing, and run and exteranl oil line up to the head, install valve-train oiling. :)

Re:swap question 92 si

get the whole z6 motor and do the swap. i think i might do a quick write up on what it takes to do the whole thing on the crx, im sure there is plenty of info on it but hey too much never hurt.

i would do teh whole thing its your best bet.
then some kinda vtec controller like a msd rpm activator or vafc hack.

Re:swap question 92 si

it should work, blocks are basicly the same. u will want to take care of the oil passage on the block.

Re:swap question 92 si

just install the oil oriface jet on the face of the block from the a6 onto the z6, and you will be good to go. All the other stuff can swap right on. You will also need to use the a6 timing belt too.
