Subaru question for any of you's that've worked on them...

How the ---- do you seperate the motor from the ------ tranny? :7 The car is a 97 Legacy gt awd with an auto trans. I have everything unbolted, all lines disconnected, and it still won't let go. I only found 4 bolts that attach the motor to the trans, and so far my manual only specifies 4, so wtf is going on here? ??? Help me out guys...I gotta get this car done to drive for the winter :-\

Unbolted them through an inspection hole in the motor casing. Only 4 of them as well. Only thing I can think of is that the motor and trans are just corroded together...pretty much everything else was either rusted or corroded to ---- :P Whoever says Honda's are a pita to work on has obviously never touched a subaru :X

go ask some auto wrecking place, or a transmission shop. they will know for sure, as they can't be like 'hey, you got a subie, gtfo' unless they're hotrex or something
