studdering....

Alright me and my friends are talking bets cause we are out of ideas.

B16a turbo with internals blaa blaa bla.

So when i am driving and get into the throttle right before vtec engages the car feels like it goes into seizures. It cuts out starts sputtering. it feels like its ignition so i changed my plugs wires distributor. checked my timing it went away for a while but it is back worse than ever. even if I am not full throttle if i slowly bring it up. it just starts backfiring cutting sputtering. So the only other thing that i can think of is maybe a stuck injector or cracked. But it feels like ignition.

When this happens the tach goes nuts and it puffs out like a blueish smoke. Any ideas????

Thanks

Nick

blue smoke means oil in the combustion chamber. if its happening around vtec you may have an oil pressure problem. Might do a compression test as well. I'm really not sure on if that would cause those symptons though.

Re: studdering....

sounds like Spark blowout :y how cold/hot are the plugs your using?

Re: studdering....

well the smoke i think is cause I have no sort of pcv system hooked up. I forgot to mention that it really smells like fuel after it happens.. Yeah I need to do a compression check. maybe cracked sleeve?? naw i dont think so. huh i am cluless.does a bad injector sound like it could do that. like it is getting stuck. Ohh and if the car is cold like if it has been running for like 5 minutes then it is fine for a few pulls. But if it starts to warm up then game over.

as for plugs I am running NGK's not quite sure on the heat level though. pulled the plugs they are all burning even. Where could I pick up some low heat plugs.

Any parts store. Ask for NGK 2 - 3 degrees colder than stock. Can't remember the exact name for them.

It is right around the time I start building boost about 4500 to 5000. I am going to try new plugs tomorrow again. :1

it cant be the dizzy I have gone through 3 in a month to try and solve it. every time they are new or rebuilds form shucks.
