Default Streetable cams

What are some of the best cams for a D16Z6....I would like a cam thats Street/race. What do they run.. usually close to 400 ? or 3 something? ANd how much power does this roll out in the Rpm range it works? 10 hp ? Or i should say how much do they CLAIM to put out? a stock Z6 has about 135 whp or around there ?

as long as we're on the topic, what does anyone think about the ZEX cams?

stock z6 has 100 whp. zex cams are good for the price. For built motors crower and web have some good ones. The more agressive cams need springs/retainers the zex street cam does not. For mild applications this is the best choice. Should see 7-8 whp with proper tuning on fuel/ignition

Listen to this guy, he know's what he's talking about Heh, I just got a Zex/Compcams street/strip cam part number 59300 for my Z6 head. I read up on it before buying it and from what I've heard, due to the steep ramp angles of the lobes, the valve train can be quite noisy. I did get a set of their Z6 springs and ti-retainers as well because the 59300 recommends it, the 59100 (I beleive thats the street cam) will work with the factory valve train.

I have the Formally called ZEX, now Competition Cams 59300.
The valve train is noisey, but she's a heavy breather.

Yup, same one I have. I didn't know what name to call it I have yet to install them. They had a backorder on the ti-retainers so I'm still waiting for those, but I hear Vtec hits pretty hard with them. Any truth to this Iflyby?
