Stinky heat?

Well it's been getting worse and worse, whenever I turn on my heat a gasoline/exhausty smell comes into the car. Whats going on?

This is probably not it, but I hope you don't have a fuel leak at your fuel filter and it is drawing in fumes or something. Sorry for the stupid idea, but it popped into my head so I'm gonna say it. :P

I would guess that you have a leak in the engine bay. Same thing happened on my olds. Just had to seal the bitch up and it was cured. I did get a little light headed on long trips though. :P

Just a guess, maybe you're mis-diagnosing the smell, and you're heater core is leaking?

Sounds like you have an exhaust leak up front.

if the smell is gone with the vent off.
def.ly check ur engine bay.
it happened to my friend, he can smell gas and exhaust with the vent open.
it turns out one of his spark plug is loose, runs fine after tighten down.

and it happened to another friends 300ZX, turns out all 6 injector seal is leaking :-X :-X :-X

No my heater core is fine, I know how that smells. And tastes. Anyways it's cold as a bitch out and I haven't really checked my engine bay yet, hopefully it is something minor like a loose fuel filter connection. I'll check it out within the next year or so and raise this post from the dead with my results then ;D

when it comes to leaking fuel it's never minor. check your rail, injector seals, filter connection (inlet/outlet). a lot of enginebay fires happen during the winter because of this.
