srp pistons? good/bad?
these pistons seem to be one of the cheapest i have found. the site says they are made of a high silicon and low expansion aluminum. this leads me to believe they are less dense and then less strong than some of the other brands out there. id like to make 300+ hp. whats my best option for pistons? thanks

Re: srp pistons? good/bad?
what engine? if its d series vitaras are the cheapeast way to get the 300-400hp mark. plus srp are very good, at least from what i hear by all the people i know running them. personally ive never run anything other then stock so i have no input.

Re: srp pistons? good/bad?
It sounds like they are hypereutectic pistons. I have never seen them for an import motor before but they are good for around 250 horsepower I am guessing.

Re: srp pistons? good/bad?
they are for a b series. i sure hope that they are good for more than 250 hp as thats what stock is good for about

Re: srp pistons? good/bad?
srp's are forged and can handle much more than 250. If vitaras are cast and can handle 400, think how much these will handle.

Re: srp pistons? good/bad?
they seem like the best bang for the buck. they are the cheapest and they come with rings!

Re: srp pistons? good/bad?
i just bought some 81mm b series pistons for my car srp brand and i researched them a little they are forged and im pretty sure could hand a lot of hp

vitaras are hardxly the way to go imo srp's arent much more and being forged will take piss poor tuning and take it try that with a cast piston regardless vitars are cast. detonation will destroy cast pistons within a chance to repair the problem forged will take it over and over again |

Re: srp pistons? good/bad?
SRP's will break much higher than a horsepower goal you're shooting for... ever. It's all in the tune.

Re: srp pistons? good/bad?
I ran SRP's on my Z6 for over a year, 12-15psi daily... had detonation problems, bitch ass iridium plugs melted. and the bitch kept going. THey love boost, and they were quiet as ----, none of that diesel sounding ---- you get from vitaras. and you dont have to get them machined.
I would recomend them. they are cheaper than arias, ross |

piston to wall clearance can be outta wack |
Re: srp pistons? good/bad?
ya any used block should be bored over if you want to do it right

Re: srp pistons? good/bad?
My pistons said JE/SRP and I love them, whether your calling them JE or SRP they are forged and work well for me.
