Did you try putting it in your mouth first?

turns out im missing a piece that i thought came with the vss but i was wrong and i need to go to the honda dealer to get the little part that the cable clips into might as well pick up a new clip while im at it

is there a difference between b and d series parts in relation to this?

because the honda dealer is right down the street from my work.. and the acura dealer is a 45 minute drive

you put the cable in first, you might have to spin the end some to get it to line up, then once it is in, you put the clip on it. its not hard, just helps to have all the parts you need. im not sure about the d to b thing, but seeing as i have never heard of having to change that out when you swap a b series, i would say its the same.
