SOMEONE PLAESE HELP THIS NOVICE 89 CIVIC HB BUILD
 

I got a 89 civicHB with a stock D15B2 in it. I just put a fuel pump and filter, starter. I have a AEM intake and a DC sports 4-2-1 header that flows to a greddy cat-back exhust(no cat). I just put all these thing on the car and everything was runnin fine. I saw an increase of power. That was 2 days ago. Now the car is dead. 1st it would not turn completly ova, like it wasnt gettin enough fuel to the engine. then al of a sudden that stopped, now when i turn the key to switch on, all it does is make this clickin noise that comes from somewhere behind my gauges. I want to know but have no idea what it is. Can someone please help this young novice? ??? ???

no not the battery or alt. or start all brand new

relay might be your problem.

I'd say get the batt and alt checked even though they're new

where is the main relay located i've been lookin 4 it for a while now how do i kno its bad

ok, while ur cranking the car, hit the dashboared prtty hard right above the vent to the left of the steering wheel, if the car starts, your main relay was bad. the relay is up above the hood release by your left leg, hope this helps

check your grounds, ive had the same problem. my volt gauge will read 12 till i try to start it, as soon as the key is in the on position - it shoots to zero. check and recheck your ground. tighten all of them, even if they seem like they are good.

my buddy had the same problem. He parked the car for 3 months and it fired right up, lol

also thinks relay.

are you gettin spark? my car was doin some dumb ---- like that, and here it was the screw fell out of the rotor in the distributor, check that ---- out

mine used to do the same thing and it was the main relay, then onced i fixed that it would just crank and crank, come to find out the ignition switch was bad too.....

Had this same problem today on a saturn.... it was the starter. Check your conections close!
