Some help for my old Accord 86
Hi guys,
I own and 86 LXI accord(110 HP) and i'm looking the way to gain some extra power, the car has high flow air intake, 8 mm plug wires, etc.
I have not mechanical knowledge, if i'm not wrong there're superchargers and turbos, can somebody tell me if an supercharger will help my car to gain extra power, and if this fits my car? Pro and cons? cost? where to find them?
Thanks for your pattience.

A supercharger will help your cars power, but I dont think any honda has ever come with one (you can probly find them on the after market on summit)
Pros:have boost at take off (no spool up time)
Cons: takes power to turn it
I hope this helps

Thanks, now i'm thinking it better, the best to get real power will be installing the entire turbo system, now i will save money, i can't wait to hear the psssst sound from my old car...

Re:Some help for my old Accord 86
First off, no supercharger kits are made for the A20A3 (thats youre engine). Second, for the 3rd gen accords nobody makes a turbo exaust manifold (none are even CLOSE!!), either log or full length, so youd have to have one custom made. On the good side, the block is all cast iron, and the rods and bottom end are solid, just the pistons are weak, and break around 8 psi, but 6-7 psi is no problem if you eliminate detonation and have good engine managemant, which is close to impossible with the stock distributor because it has vacuum and mechanical advance, it is NOT controlled by the computer, so stand alone would be a good idea. People tell me that MSD BTMs arent very reliable....
