im gettin a sohc zc soon, gonna swap it into my 88 si. i plan on rebuilding the head and a few other things before i put it in. im putting the turbo on the same time as the motor in. im wondering whether getting a thicker headgasket would be better than a stock head gasket. ive head a lot of different opinions on stock or thicker head gaskets so which is better?

 

i have the same motor ;and wondering the same thing;i ran a 14.1 with the IHI turbo

 

a thicker headgasket will protect you a little better against detonation...

i say with stock compression you should be fine with the regular gasket... or even using the z6 metal gasket.
