OK, swapping the cam is easy I know.

But my question is do all non-vtec D-series cams swap, or is it by generation. I know all the 4th gen cams swap because 1) the casting is exactly the same & 2) I've done it. Question is can I put my 4th gen Si cam in the d16y7 head and is it any better...

Car just feels a bit slow for what it should be...

all D series parts are interchangable ....
ir headers / cams / injectors bla bla ..
what i dont knwo if it is going to make an
improvemnt.

 

AFAIK switching to the SI cam supposily will give u better output coz of the lift/durating different.
some said u can feel the different but some of them said it`s not noticable.

 

Y7 head casting will not except any cam except y7. It is cast like a vtec head.

 

swap the a6 cam into the b7 head but you gotta move a tooth or two but it works or in the b2 heads also.

 

They are interchangeable to a degree. As you can see from the posts above, you have to mod a little bit and some things just don't work. On the whole, they can be swapped, but it is nothing like the 4th gen stuff.
