so my engine blew.....again

Back in january my b16 blew in my vortech supercharged civic si....i have just got the vafc hack, so i didnt thing much of it and assumed that the vafc hack caused it. Blew a hole in the # 3 piston.
So i got a b18 bottom end and did ls/vtec. This time i wanted to do it right so i got a hondata and got it dyno tuned before i even drove the car. drove fine for about 2 weeks, then the motor went again. Guess what....same piston, and the damage is in the same place. And the pistons look identical. Black, no signs of bein lean or anything.
About 2 weeks before the first one blew i bought some precision 440 injectors....im thinkin maybe an injector is bad or somethin, Take off the manafold and look at the runners for gas stains.....they all look the same except for #3. Is it possible i could have gotten a bad injector?
Are precision injectors junk?
Is there any way to really tell if the injector is bad?

Re:so my engine blew.....again

you can get them flow tested and find out, i'm not exactly sure where though, just call some auto shops or parts stores and ask them if they know where you can get it done. also, the ls/vtec is a good set up, just spend some cash on some good forged pistons and figure out what's up with the injector and go from there. the #3 cylinder usually runs hotter all the time though, but that's just not right, i would definitely look in to those injectors. and this was only on 6lbs of boost right? that sucks man, i hope you have some better luck :-\

no, you shouldn't do that, your na ls/vtec would make more power than a gsr, besides, you wouldn't need a complete swap, you car is already equipped for a b series, so you wouldn't even need a complete swap. just find out what is up with your injectors, but keep your current block, you just got it, just get new FORGED pistons, no more stock pistons for you ;) if anything, sell the supercharger and take the cash to put a turbo kit together, you could put together a nice turbo kit and still have money left over. but i would look in to those injectors if i was you, that's not right for that to happen with a properly tuned hondata set up on only 6 psi :-\

Send the injectors to RC for a cleaning and flow test.

im thinkin about tradin my blower for the gsr swap, then sellin my b16 tranny quaffe equipt and sellin off the swap parts and my b16 head. Then use that money to get a turbo kit pieced together.
