Looks like you caught it early how do the crank journals look? you might be able to get away with a new set of bearings.

well i caught it right when it started sounding odd,no knocking, but the engine sounded off. drove it about 15 miles home, started knocking about 1 mile from home, so i parked it and it sat there next to the house for about 6 month. everything seems fine, i didnt see anything bad really, but then again this is only the 2nd engine ive torn apart.

the bearing dealies on the first rods werent bad looking at all but the ring had cracked. so these look weird to me so i asked. ill go check them for thinning, and ----.

rod knock? valve tap? what kind of knock was it? did it go away when the car was warm? was it louder when the car was cold?

bearings don't look spun to me, but maybe that's cause you didn't drive on it at all after hearing a knock.

im tempted to do so, just wanna make sure.

so, acl bearing are like one size fits all right? just throw em on, and call it a day? cause i know the oem ones come in diff sizes according to the color and number on the rods.
